Association of cesarean scar defect with abnormal uterine bleeding; the results of a prospective study

Antila RM, et al. - The connection between cesarean scar defect and abnormal uterine bleeding at 1 year after cesarean section (CS) was investigated. In this prospective observational cohort study, 401 women who delivered by CS were screened for isthmocele with sonohysterography 6 months after CS. Using electronic questionnaires, researchers followed the women at 12, 13 and 14 months after CS. Postmenstrual spotting was prevalent in 20.0% of patients with isthmocele. Additionally, there was an association of postmenstrual spotting with the presence of isthmocele inquired at 1 year after CS.
