Sanford R, et al. - The physicians investigate whether HIV-positive individuals who were aviremic and treated with combination antiretroviral therapy (cART) experienced progressive brain atrophy and cognitive decline. They supported the notion that cognitive and structural brain changes could occur early after seroconversion. Furthermore, they argued that maintaining aviremia with cART could prevent or minimize progressive brain injury.
