Association of blood marker of inflammation in late adolescence with premature mortality
JAMA Pediatrics Nov 16, 2019
Kantor ED, Udumyan R, Giovannucci EL, et al. - This inquiry was undertaken in ostensibly healthy men evaluated for conscription in the Swedish military, to assess cause-specific mortality in relation to inflammation in late adolescence as measured by erythrocyte sedimentation rate. The involvement of inflammation has been reported in many diseases, including cancer and cardiovascular disease. There is little information regarding the long-term implications of early inflammation, despite the fact that there is a growing interest in the role of childhood and adolescent exposures in later-life disease.
