Association of asthmaâchronic obstructive pulmonary disease overlap syndrome with coronary artery disease, cardiac dysrhythmia and heart failure: A population-based retrospective cohort study
BMJ Open Oct 11, 2017
Yeh JJ, et al. - This study researched the connection amongst cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) and asthma-chronic obstructive pulmonary disease overlap syndrome (ACOS) in the general population. The current study showed that the ACOS was related to higher CVD risk, even without the presence of previous comorbidities or without acute exacerbation of COPD (AE-COPD). There were no significant differences in CVD events in the ACOS cohort utilizing beta-blockers, except for those utilizing atenolol for treating cardiac dysrhythmia (CD).
