Association of ablative radiation therapy with survival among patients with inoperable pancreatic cancer
JAMA May 28, 2021
Reyngold M, O’Reilly EM, Varghese AM, et al. - Among patients with locally advanced pancreatic cancer (LAPC) managed with a novel radiation planning and delivery technique, whether there exists a link between hypofractionated ablative radiation therapy (A-RT) and survival was inquired in this cohort study with 119 consecutive patients managed with A-RT between June 2016 and February 2019. Median overall survival from diagnosis and A-RT were estimated to be 26.8 and 18.4 months, respectively. Among patients with inoperable LAPC, durable locoregional tumor control as well as favorable survival were achieved by administering A-RT following multiagent induction therapy for LAPC.
