Association between snus use over time and smoking cessation in Norwegian smokers
Addiction Sep 17, 2019
Lund I, et al. - Researchers examined if the use of snus (Swedish moist snuff) over the lifespan is associated with smoking cessation in Norway. Yearly national cross-sectional surveys (2007-2017) among Norwegian adults yielded data on 5,353 ever-daily smokers aged 16-79 years, of which 61.1% had quit daily smoking and 16.9% were ever-snus users. According to findings, snus use in Norway was associated with a higher probability of smoking cessation within the first 5 years of snus use initiation.
