International Journal of Rheumatic Diseases Sep 07, 2017
Yesil H, et al. – This cross–sectional study investigated the development of neuropathic pain (NP) in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and the relationship between NP and vitamin D. The researchers found that in patients with RA, vitamin D deficiency was correlated with increased NP. This study raised awareness of the need to screen for vitamin D deficiency in RA patients with NP although further research was needed to clarify the association between serum vitamin D levels and NP.
