Liu K, Zhang C, Chen B, et al. - Researchers examined the link between enlarged right atrial area (RAA), as evaluated by echocardiography, and prognosis of patients suffering from pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), by performing this systematic review and meta-analysis. They explored MEDLINE, the Cochrane database and the Embase database, up to December 2019 in order to identify potential publications. This analysis involved 12 studies comprising 1,085 patients with PAH. As per the findings of this meta-analysis, increased risk of poor prognosis in relation to enlarged RAA/right atrial area index was observed in patients with PAH.
