Association between remote major venous thromboembolism risk factors and the risk of recurrence after a first unprovoked episode
Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis Sep 02, 2017
Farren–Dai L, et al. – The experts wished to estimate the relationship between remote exposure (3–12 months prior to venous thromboembolism {VTE}) to major VTE risk factors and the risk of recurrent VTE. It was concluded that none of the tested risk factors were related to a lower risk of recurrence during follow–up. The findings suggested that patients with remote exposure to major risk factors at the time of a first VTE should not be managed differently than patients with no VTE risk factors.
