Association between pre‐diagnostic serum albumin and cancer risk: Results from a prospective population‐based study
Cancer Medicine Jun 01, 2021
Yang Z, Zheng Y, Wu Z, et al. - Researchers examined the link between pre-diagnostic serum albumin and cancer risk among Chinese. They selected participants from the Kailuan cohort, and applied Cox proportional hazards models and restricted cubic spline analyses in this study with 82,061 individuals with baseline information on serum albumin level. Findings revealed an inverse and linear relationship of pre-diagnostic serum albumin with risk of cancer in the Chinese population. As per evidence gained herein, albumin may be useful for the prediction as well as stratification of cancer risk in the general population.
