Association between ovarian reserve and preeclampsia: A cohort study
BMC Pregnancy and Childbirth Dec 06, 2019
Erfani H, Rahmati M, Mansournia MA, et al. - Researchers investigated if an association exists between ovarian reserve, as assessed by Anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH), and preeclampsia (PE). From 2,412 participants (aged 20–50 years) of the Tehran Lipid and Glucose Study, a population-based cohort with a 15-year follow-up (1998–2014), they included 781 women; preeclampsia group comprised 80 participants and the non-PE group comprised 701 participants. They observed PE in 23 (11.1%), 12 (6.4%), 26 (13.3%) and 19 (10%) women in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th quartiles of prepregnancy age-specific AMH, respectively. Observations suggest no utility of age-specific AMH as a suitable marker for the prediction of PE.
