Addiction Jul 19, 2019
Hsu WY, et al. - Researchers examined the prevalence of fractures and osteoporosis in patients with opioid use disorder (OUD) vs patients without OUD in Taiwan. Using data from the National Health Insurance Research Database (NHIRD) in Taiwan, they included 3,695 adult patients with OUD and 14,780 without OUD. Patients with OUD vs without OUD had 4.13 times higher likelihood to suffer fractures.
