Association between non-invasive liver fibrosis scores and occurrence of health adverse outcomes in older people
Digestive and Liver Diseases Feb 07, 2019
De Vincentis A, et al. - Using Cox and log-binomial regressions, researchers assessed the association of four liver fibrosis scores with mortality and incident disability at 6 years in an older population. Study participants included 962 people (aged ≥ 65 years), with a mean follow-up of 95.7 months, enrolled in the InCHIANTI study. There was evidence of an association between higher risk of liver fibrosis and higher risk of poor health outcomes. According to findings, fibrosis scores can help to stratify the risk and identify elderly patients with favorable prognosis.
