Association between more intensive vs less intensive blood pressure lowering and risk of mortality in chronic kidney disease stages 3 to 5: A systematic review and meta-analysis
JAMA Internal Medicine Nov 03, 2017
Malhotra R, et al. - A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized clinical trials (RCTs) are conducted to explore if more intensive compared with less intensive blood pressure (BP) control is related to decreased mortality risk in persons with chronic kidney disease (CKD) stages 3 to 5. Randomization to more intensive BP control is related to lower mortality risk among trial participants with hypertension and CKD. To characterize absolute BP targets for the maximal benefit and minimal harm, further studies are required.
