Association between migraine and suicidal behaviors: A nationwide study in the USA
Headache: The Journal of Head and Face Pain Apr 08, 2018
Friedman LE, et al. - The association between migraine and suicidal behaviors was investigated in a cross-sectional study. In addition, researchers determined if psychiatric comorbidities modify this association in a nationwide inpatient cohort. This study may not report the chronic conditions that do not affect the current hospitalization. In a national inpatient sample, the associations of suicidal behaviors with migraine were noted to be influenced by the presence of psychiatric diagnoses. Providing care to migraineurs with diagnosed comorbid psychiatric disorders may mitigate their risk for suicidal behaviors.
