The Journal of Infectious Diseases Feb 11, 2020
Niyibizi J, et al. - The association between HPV and adverse pregnancy outcomes was investigated via performing a systematic review and meta-analysis of relevant citation from electronic databases up to December 1st, 2019. The searches yielded 3,034 citations; of these, 38 studies were included and 36 studies were quantitatively synthesized. The analysis revealed that HPV is consistently and significantly associated with preterm birth and preterm premature rupture of membranes. Further, there is a possible association of HPV with intrauterine growth restriction, low birth weight, and fetal death.
