Association between impaired renal function and stroke outcome in patients with vs without atrial fibrillation
European Journal of Neurology Jun 11, 2018
Pan Y, et al. - The relationship between impaired renal function and poor prognosis in ischemic stroke patients with vs without atrial fibrillation (AF) was compared in this investigation. From the China National Stroke Registry, patients with ischemic stroke were included. It was observed that stroke patients with lower estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) had more occurrence of AF. In stroke patients with AF, the connections of low eGFR with the risk of poor prognosis were stronger than in those without AF.
