Association between genomic metrics and immune infiltration in triple-negative breast cancer
JAMA Oncology Aug 21, 2017
Karn T, et al. – The association between genomic metrics and the extent of immune infiltration had been investigated in triple–negative breast cancers (TNBCs). As per observations, immune–rich TNBCs appeared to be under an immune surveillance that continuously eliminated many immunogenic clones, resulting in lower clonal heterogeneity. In addition, these cancers seemed to also represent the subset of TNBCs that could derive benefit from immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy to tilt the balance in favor of the immune system.
