Association between genetic polymorphisms in TYMS and glioma risk in Chinese patients: A case-control study
OncoTargets and Therapy Oct 11, 2019
Yao L, Zhou L, Deng Y, et al. - Researchers undertook this case-control analysis involving 605 patients and 1300 cancer-free people, to assess glioma susceptibility in relation to two common thymidylate synthase (TYMS) gene variants (rs1059394 C > T, rs2847153 G > A). They used Sequenom Mass-ARRAY to perform genotyping. The correlations were estimated by determining odds ratios and their 95% confidence intervals. A significantly low glioma risk was observed in relation to rs1059394 TT and CT+TT genotype. The proof of the influence of TYMS rs1059394 on the susceptibility of glioma was offered by this inquiry. A larger proportion was comprised by the GA and GA+AA genotypes of rs2847153 vs GG genotype in high-grade gliomas.
