Association between diabetic peripheral neuropathy and heart rate variability in subjects with type 2 diabetes

Islam SKMA, et al. - Researchers analyzed the tie-up between Heart rate variability (HRV) measurements with diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) in patients with type 2 diabetes. Yielded results displayed a negative association of DPN, revealed via the Michigan neuropathy screening instrument examination score (MNSIES), with high frequency (HF) power in male patients with type 2 diabetes. It was reported that DPN defined by foot examination was speculative of cardiac autonomic neuropathy.
