The Clinical Journal of Pain Jan 31, 2018
Castaldo M, et al. - The authors aimed at investigating the association between pain, disability, trigger points (TrPs), and pressure pain thresholds (PPTs) in patients with mechanical neck pain (MNP) or whiplash-associated disorders (WAD). Findings revealed a common occurrence of the association between pain, disability, and PPTs in patients with neck pain regardless of the origin of neck pain. They observed a correlation of the presence of active TrPs with a higher pain intensity and related-disability and lower PPTs.
