Association between chemosensory dysfunction and diet quality in United States adults
American Journal of Rhinology & Allergy May 21, 2021
Roxbury CR, Bernstein IA, Lin SY, et al. - Researchers conducted this cross-sectional study to explore the connection between chemosensory dysfunction (CSD) and diet quality in a representative sample of United States adults. The taste/smell questionnaire and examination were completed by 2,831 adults over the age of 40 from the 2013-2014 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. This population-level study reveals a link between low food quality and food intake variance in CSD patients, which needs additional examination and implies that CSD patients may benefit from nutritional counseling.
