Association between atopic disease and anemia in pediatrics: A cross-sectional study
BMC Pediatrics Nov 29, 2019
Rhew K, et al. - Using a pediatric dataset from the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service of South Korea in 2016, a cross-sectional study was carried out in order to review whether the inflammatory atopic diseases like atopic dermatitis, allergic rhinitis, and asthma were related to anemia in pediatrics. A total of 846,718 pediatric cases were involved in the study. The logistic regression analyses including covariates showed that there was a relationship between atopic disease and iron deficiency anemia (IDA). No evidence of multicollinearity among covariates was noticed. Thus, findings imply that atopic disease was related to IDA.
