Association between anti–citrullinated fibrinogen antibodies and coronary artery disease in rheumatoid arthritis
Arthritis Care & Research Jun 03, 2018
Hejblum BP, et al. - Researchers assessed the relationship between antibodies against citrullinated fibrinogen (anti–Cit-fibrinogens) and coronary artery disease (CAD) outcomes in rheumatoid arthritis (RA). The study was conducted in an RA cohort based in a large academic institution linked with electronic medical record data containing information on CAD outcomes from medical record review. Data demonstrated the association of anti–Cit-fibrinogen antibodies as a group with CAD outcomes in the RA cohort, the strongest signal for association arose from a subset of the autoantibodies.
