Kang SY, et al. - Researchers examined the association between anemia and the risk of maternal depression via performing a meta-analysis of 15 observational epidemiological studies (5 case-control studies and 10 cohort studies) that included data from 32,792,378 women. Overall, they noted a significant correlation of anemia with an increased risk of maternal depression, and this association was consistent with respect to both antepartum and postpartum depression.
