de Greef BTA, et al. - The authors aimed to examine associated conditions in a large cohort of small fiber neuropathy (SFN) patients and to compare the prevalence to healthy individuals. As per the findings, they suggested screening patients with pure SFN at least for autoimmune diseases, sodium channel gene mutations, diabetes mellitus including glucose intolerance, and vitamin B12 deficiency, even when the patients already had a potential underlying condition at referral.
