Soliman R, et al. - The incidence of paradoxical hypertension was assessed in pediatric patients who received dexmedetomidine while undergoing aortic coarctation repair. Researchers found that administration of dexmedetomidine in this population was safe and minimized the incidence and severity of paradoxical hypertension and decreased the required antihypertensive medications.
