Ramirez FD, et al. - In this cohort study of 11 649 mother-child pairs from September 2017 to September 2018, authors evaluated the sleep disturbances over time between mothers of children with vs without atopic dermatitis (AD) and also to ascertain if these disturbances were correlated with the child’s disease severity and the child’s sleep disturbances. They recruited all pregnant females staying in Avon, United Kingdom, with an expected delivery date between April 1, 1991, and December 31, 1992, in this ongoing Avon Longitudinal Study of Parents and Children. They observed difficulty falling asleep, subjectively insufficient sleep, and daytime exhaustion throughout the first 11 years of childhood among mothers of children with AD.
