Indian Journal of Otolaryngology and Head & Neck Surgery Apr 13, 2018
Padma R, et al. - Researchers evaluated the histopathological grade and Ki-67 expression in tobacco (smoking/smokeless) and non-tobacco (betal nut/pan masala) habitual buccal mucosa cancer. Findings suggested a strong relationship of the nature of cell differentiation and proliferation to consumption of carcinogen in both tobacco and non-tobacco form. Thus, in order to understand the biological behavior of risk habits which could be helpful for further treatment therapeutics, histopathological grade and Ki-67 could be used as a reliable biomarker.
