Assessment of glucose variability in subjects with prediabetes
Diabetes Research and Clinical Practice Apr 03, 2019
Chakarova N, et al. - In this study involving 32 prediabetic subjects and 18 subjects with normal glucose tolerance (NGT), researchers assessed glucose variability in subjects with prediabetes by means of continuous glucose monitoring (CGM). During OGTT, glucose tolerance was studied. Using the NGSP certified method, HbA1c was measured. Investigators found that glucose variability in prediabetic subjects was significantly increased and may be an additional parameter—even at these early stages of glucose dysregulation—in the assessment of glucose homeostasis.
