Assessing time of full renal recovery following minimally invasive partial nephrectomy
Urology Oct 20, 2017
Dawidek MT, et al. - This paper effectuated an investigation of the renal function in the operated kidney at different time points post partial nephrectomy (PN) and sought to establish the time in which optimal recovery occurred. It was inferred that the renal function recovery at 6-12 weeks was equivalent to long-term recovery at 1 year in maximum post-PN patients. It displayed significant implications for post-PN follow-up, especially in contemplating the functional outcomes through novel minimally invasive PN strategies, and for planning staged procedures for bilateral synchronous renal masses.
