Assessing the effect of weight-based protocol modifications to lower dose for CT-guided hepatic and renal tumor radiofrequency ablations
American Journal of Roentgenology Jan 19, 2018
Gupta S, et al. - The radiation dose after computed tomography (CT)-guided percutaneous radiofrequency ablations (RFAs) was determined by the authors in the case of hepatic and renal tumors. Additionally, they contemplated the impact of weight-based CT protocol modification for lowering overall dose in these procedures. A marked reduction could be achieved in the radiation dose during CT-guided percutaneous ablations in the liver and kidneys via simple weight-based CT protocol modifications, without prominently sacrificing image quality.
