Assessing prescribing trends of adjuvant medication therapy in outpatients with a diagnosis of noncancer chronic pain
The Clinical Journal of Pain Aug 21, 2017
Rasu RS, et al. – This retrospective, cross–sectional study aimed to examine reported usage of adjuvants in the treatment of chronic pain via the National Ambulatory Medical Care Survey (NAMCS). During the study period, overall adjuvant usage dramatically increased. Analysis of data showed adjuvant use in chronic pain varied based patient–specific characteristics. These outcomes could allow clinicians, policy makers, and medical educators to identify potential gaps in adjuvant use in certain populations and targeted areas for clinical, populations–based, and educational improvements in managing noncancer chronic pain (NCCP).
