Asprosin serum levels and glucose homeostasis in children with obesity
Cytokine Mar 05, 2021
Corica D, Aversa T, Currò M, et al. - Researchers conducted this cross-sectional, case-controlled, study to compare fasting serum asprosin levels between obese children and controls and to examine the associations of asprosin with BMI and biochemical markers of insulin resistance, insulin sensitivity, β-cell function and cardio-metabolic risk in obese non-diabetic children. Forty-three obese children and 24 lean matched controls consecutively recruited in this analysis. Between insulin resistant and non-insulin resistant obese children, there were no substantial differences in asprosin levels. Obese children had substantially lower asprosin serum levels than control.
