Aspirin, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), and glioma risk: Original data from the Glioma International Case-Control Study and a meta-analysis
Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention Dec 01, 2018
Amirian ES, et al. - Researchers evaluated the links between glioma and aspirin/non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) use by examining 4,533 glioma cases recruited from 2010-2013 in the Glioma International Case-Control Study (GICC). Patients were interviewed using a standardized questionnaire to extract information on aspirin/NSAID use. For these patients, history of regular use of aspirin/NSAID for >=6 months and duration-response were determined. They also performed meta-analysis to aggregate these findings with prior published studies by using restricted maximum likelihood meta-regression models. According to findings, a reduced risk of glioma may be seen in relation to aspirin use.
