Arthroscopic rotator cuff repair with a knotless suture bridge technique: Functional and radiological outcomes after a minimum follow-up of 5 years
Arthroscopy Jul 08, 2019
Dukan R, et al. - Via a study of a prospective consecutive series of full-thickness supraspinatus atraumatic chronic tears of 68 subjects, the experts estimated clinical and radiological outcomes of knotless suture bridge repair following a minimum of 5 years of follow-up. The postoperative strength score was markedly greater. Magnetic resonance imaging exhibited a total of 88% of Sugaya 1-2 repairs. In comparison to the Sugaya 1-2 group, individuals with unhealed rotator cuffs exhibited significantly lower functional results. No association was observed among the degree of retraction and the rate of healing. For failed rotator cuff repair, the revision was needed by 4 symptomatic patients (6%). Hence, superior long-term results of tendon healing, pain relief, and betterment of shoulder function were shown by the arthroscopic knotless suture bridge repair of rotator cuff tears with acromioplasty, regardless of the potential confounding factors.
