Arthroscopic double bone block augmentation is a salvage procedure for anterior and posterior shoulder instability secondary to glenoid bone loss
Knee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy May 29, 2018
Haeni D, et al. - Authors ascertained a one-step arthroscopic anterior and posterior bone block augmentation technique for bidirectional shoulder instability and to present preliminary results. Findings suggested that fair to good clinical outcomes, with a low incidence of intra-operative complications, could be provided with an all-arthroscopic technique for the treatment of combined anterior and posterior glenoid bone loss as a cause of shoulder instability. Experts noted a higher rate of failure in this series vs primary stabilization procedures. For cases in which alternative treatments failed or were unlikely to succeed, this was considered as a salvage procedure.
