Arthroscopic bankart repair with and without curettage of the glenoid edge: a prospective, randomized, controlled study
Arthroscopy Dec 02, 2020
Desai SS, Singh V, Mata HK, et al. - The present study was performed to ascertain if curettage of the cartilage on the glenoid edge in arthroscopic Bankart repair, reduces the postoperative recurrence rate as compared to the non-curetted glenoid. In this study, between January 2010 and December 2013, 134 individuals had undergone arthroscopy and stabilization for recurrent anterior dislocation of the shoulder. They excluded a total of 42 patients. It was shown that curettage of the cartilage on the anterior glenoid edge reduces the incidence of postoperative recurrence of instability during arthroscopic Bankart repair.
