Arterial thickness and stiffness are independently associated with left ventricular strain
Journal of the American Society of Echocardiography Nov 30, 2017
Mehta S, et al. - Researchers, in this study, investigated the association between myocardial strain and arterial thickness and stiffness in young adults. As per findings, adolescents and young adults with obesity and Type 2 diabetes mellitus could show reduced strain and strain rate. Independent association of arterial thickness and stiffness with cardiac strain was observed. In young subjects, cardiovascular risk factors such as demographics, blood pressure, and lipids were associated with adverse strain.
