Arsenic exposure from drinking water and the incidence of CKD in low to moderate exposed areas of Taiwan: A 14-year prospective study
American Journal of Kidney Diseases Aug 28, 2017
Hsu LI, et al. – A long–term prospective observational study aimed at assessing the association between arsenic exposure from drinking water and chronic kidney disease (CKD). A temporal relationship was highlighted between arsenic concentrations ≥ 10 μg/L in drinking water and CKD. Findings reported a dose–dependent association between well–water arsenic concentration and kidney diseases. In addition, an association of higher creatinine–adjusted urinary total arsenic concentrations with a higher prevalence of proteinuria was noticed.
