Arrhythmic risk stratification in patients with idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy
The American Journal of Cardiology Mar 21, 2018
Stolfo D, et al. - As the ventricles remodel in time, risk factors for arrhythmic death may change in Idiopathic Dilated Cardiomyopathy (IDC). In order to gain an understanding regarding how risks vary in time, this investigation was pursued. Findings showed an overtime impact of the natural course of the disease on arrhythmic risk factors in IDC. Considering different predictors for the risk stratification according to the timing of assessment was recommended. Only in the long-term, impaired left ventricular ejection fraction was found to be notably related to major arrhythmias.
