Are there gender disparities in symptom presentation or triage of patients with chest discomfort at primary care out-of-hours services? An observational study

van der Meer MG, Appelman Y, Rutten KHG, et al. - In this retrospective observational study done at primary care out-of-hours services (OHS) of 276 women and 242 men with chest discomfort who reached out to a primary care OHS in the Netherlands in 2013 and 2014, experts evaluated variations in symptom presentation or triage among women and men who contacted primary care OHS for chest discomfort. It was discovered that in both women and men, distinguishing acute coronary syndrome in people with chest discomfort who contacted primary care OHS was challenging. Nevertheless, women and men with chest discomfort got comparable high urgency allocation.
