Are there any metastases to the chest in non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer patients on follow-up computed tomography?
International Urology and Nephrology Aug 22, 2018
Juri H, et al. - In this retrospective analysis of 328 patients with primary non-muscle-invasive urothelial carcinoma in the bladder, researchers sought for metastases to the chest on the follow-up computed tomography (CT). They analyzed four groups of patients: Ta (n = 74), T1 (n = 78), carcinoma in situ (CIS, n = 25), and ≥ T2 (n = 151). Based on the findings, they concluded that T stage would affect to metastasis to the chest. The results indicated that the omission of chest CT might be appropriate in patients with Ta or T1 without upstaging in the course of follow-up. In addition, follow-up chest CT may be suggested in patients with CIS.
