In the case of the practitioner who obtained sinus cultures intraoperatively, limiting this practice to a single culture instead of multiple was determined to be cost-effective. it appeared to be adequate for the detection of the pathogen to be treated. Based on the yielded data, it would be possible to reduce healthcare costs related to the surgical care of the patient with chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS).
