Campbell ST, et al. - This work was planned to assess the effectiveness of Factor Xa inhibitors (XaI) for thromboprophylaxis following hip fracture surgery in a large cohort of patients, and compare XaI against warfarin and enoxaparin. Researchers identified XaI as an option for thromboprophylaxis in hip fracture patients. However, they recommended considering their possible decreased effectiveness against pulmonary embolism compared to enoxaparin.
