Application of reduced-FOV diffusion-weighted imaging in evaluation of normal pituitary glands and pituitary macroadenomas
American Journal of Neuroradiology Aug 20, 2018
Wang M, et al. - In the evaluation of normal pituitary glands and pituitary macroadenomas, researchers assessed the image quality and value of FOV optimized and constrained undistorted single-shot DWI. For this investigation, they involved 28 subjects with normal pituitary glands and 16 patients with macroadenomas. Findings revealed that FOV optimized and constrained undistorted single-shot DWI helps acquire high-resolution images of normal pituitary glands and pituitary macroadenomas with relatively few susceptibility artifacts in a clinically feasible scan time. Results of this study suggested that this sequence might be important for evaluating the consistency of pituitary macroadenomas.
