Aortitis in giant cell arteritis: Diagnosis with FDG PET/CT and agreement with CT angiography
Autoimmunity Reviews Sep 26, 2017
Hommada M, et al. - This study examined the fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography or computed tomography (PET)-detected rate of aortitis in giant cell arteritis (GCA) and compared the findings with CT angiography (CTA). Both techniques (PET and CTA) showed similar sensitivity as PET afforded a 40% detection rate of aortitis in GCA patients, approximately in the range of CTA rates. In relapsing GCA, PET seemed valuable, allowing the detection of vascular and articular activities.
