Gulpers B, et al. - The present study was planned to examine the association between executive functioning and (individual) anxiety disorders with and without controlling for depression. Findings revealed only agoraphobia to be associated with worse executive functioning. Researchers observed no direct effect of generalized anxiety disorder on executive functioning. The executive dysfunction could negatively influence treatment of agoraphobia.
