Losappio LM, et al. - Researchers assessed the psychological profile of patients with reactions to placebo during a drug provocation test (DPT). They observed that the loss of psychic equilibrium was significantly and strongly correlated with the development of a placebo reaction during a DPT. In clinical practice, the use the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS) or other validated questionnaire was recommended before a DPT to assess the possible psychiatric components.
