Soliman EZ, et al. - This study assessed the differences among antihypertensive classes with respect to left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) regression, in light of recent literature and the position of extant practice guidelines. Findings suggested that successful blood pressure (BP)-lowering results in LVH regression among hypertensives. Though inconsistent reports exist regarding differences among antihypertensive classes, BP-lowering beyond currently recommended levels has consistently shown a greater impact on LVH regression.
